James was born Sept. 10, 1940, to Ada Sue Jordan Jennings and William Wallace Jennings of Laurel, who preceded him in death. James graduated from Ellisville High School. James was a public servant all of his adult life. He retired from the City of Laurel Fire Department with 25 years of service.
